| Post No Evil ;) | Re: Advanced Boot Options if that doesn't help the next thing I can think of (As the black screen appears after the welcome message and the fact that you can get to Task Manager), is that the delay is caused by a program set to run on startup. the only real way to prove or disprove this is to see if the problem exists in safe mode Safe Mode If the problem does not happen in safe mode then its a case of disabling each startup item in turn via Control Panel - Programs - Change start-up options, and re-booting until the culprit is located. This may of course take a while to locate the exact cause |

| bling | Re: Advanced Boot Options ok barman i took it to hp and i got a vista ultimate disk yaaay!! but the only problem its not an upgrade disk so ill have to do a fresh install so i had another question well i wanted to know now if i reinstall the operating system to ultimate from basic if i usethe recovery disk will it revrt back to basic |

| Administrator | Re: Advanced Boot Options Hell Teaman, and welcome to Vista Forums. The Repair option will only be available if you have a OEM computer with a recovery partition on your hard drive. Otherwise, you will need to use the System Recovery Options from your Vista installation disk. |
