| Vista Home Premium 64-bit | Re: Personal User Shell Folders Well seems to be okay now after restarting my computer a couple times and stuff it's still the green folder icon. I wonder if when I initially moved my files back into the music folder once the shell command re-created it if it moved the hidden destop.ini file with my files and replaced the good one with the damaged one. I'm not sure, but it seems to be working now. *crosses fingers it stays that way* I'll be back if it changes yet again :P |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Personal User Shell Folders Chronia, If you get the option to "Copy and Replace" the desktop.ini file when you copy your files over, then do not do it. |

| Windows 7 RTM 64-bit | Re: Personal User Shell Folders Nice tutorial Shawn but do you have any idea as to what causes this issue? I have been using vista for more than a year but never came across such issues. Is it due to a corrupt user account? Or corrupt system files? |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Personal User Shell Folders Hi Dinesh, It's usually do to some mistake made by the user or something moving the user folder to a different location and/or modifying or deleting the desktop.ini file. |

| Vista Home Premium 64-bit | Re: Personal User Shell Folders Shawn, When I moved my files back from the temporary folder I'd made into the user music folder after doing this the first time, it didn't give me that message so maybe it was something else, I dunno but it seems to be working alright now (knock on wood) hopefully it'll stay that way |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Personal User Shell Folders Hello Businessman07, and welcome to Vista Forums. Double check to make sure that the default location for the Music folder is set correctly in OPTION THREE of this tutorial. Next, double check to make sure that you have a elevated command prompt open and that you do not have a typo in the command. You might copy and paste it to make it easier. Hope this helps, Shawn |

| Home Premium x64 | Re: Personal User Shell Folders Weird. Ok Brink, what I was going to do was rename the file then create another (Original) folder. after I renamed it, the Music Icon popped up, and I just changed the folders name back to music. Thanks alot, hope this helps trouble shoot others. Vista is Finky! |
