Re: Microsoft Security Essentials beta available

For those of us in the rest of the world use this link:

https://connect.microsoft.com/securityessentials

I just installed it and i like it. It only adds one service which i can then set to manual and have the programme run whenever i feel like it by clicking the icon. Its fast, feels like a part of the Operating System and best of all its Free

Re: Microsoft Security Essentials beta available

I was impressed with its performance so far but then i read somewhere that it send information to MS about Windows Genuine Advantage Validation. This doesn't seems ok. If its an antivirus, it should not act like a spy and send secret information to MS.

Re: Microsoft Security Essentials beta available

yeah, just tried it out. Would have been better if it just totally wiped defender off & took its place, so that in the control panel im not stuck with controls that dont work.

is there any place to leave feedback on the beta btw?

Re: Microsoft Security Essentials beta available

Good decision by MS but if free things would have been always good, then why will people buy paid ones like norton or kaspersky. But its still nice that people who cannot afford to have a paid one, can still install Morro and can secure their systems.
