Has anyone found out if their updates don't come through after installing sp1? If so, can you help me figure out why. I have windows 32 bit os and it is set to install automatically at 3 am, but my compuer is always asleep then, but when I wake it up in the am, I used to get a windows symbol at the bottom right telling me there is an update avail.! Now, it won't do that after the update to sp1? I just recently changed the time to auto. update at 1 pm, when my computer is turned on, so I am waiting to see if it will do that. I have checked the options and they are set right, I just think that after the install of sp1 my os now does not recognize when there is an update avail., I have not seen that anyone else is having this problem?

You computer needs to be on to receive the updates. Their might not be any updates available after sp1. Go to your security stting and serach for updates to see if their are any.

Hi eyeball1,
Thank you for your response! I get updates every couple of days for windows defender. I also checked the status of windows update in the processes to make sure it is set to receive updates and it is set to automatic (delayed), I think that is right? I know that sp1 has changed settings and also changed my statup which is anoying because I had paid best buy to optimize my computer and I don't know what they did! I don't know what to change to get it back to the way it was, that really sucks.. Do you have any other suggestions? |

Eyeball1,
Thanks! I will change it to automatic and see if that helps. I will know in a couple of days when the update for windows defender comes. If it doesn't then I know it didn't help, then I will post for you again and you can help me with your other solution... |
