I cannot download or install updated because my Background Intelligent Transfer Service is not working for some reason. Does anybody here knows the solution for this issue? By the way, I have Windows Vista Business and there's an error message it's 800 something. Please help me!!!

Make sure the following services are enabled, started, and set to automatic startup

COM+ Event System
Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
DCOM Server Process Launcher

All of the above are started, except when I checked the properties all buttons are grayed out you cannot restart, start, or stopped it. It just say started. And my BITS says stopped, though start button is enabled when i click on it i get an error code 2 message. tried bitsadmin /reset no go. BITS ver. 3.0 Tried Regsvr32 it's dll's still no go comes up with an error message. I just don't know what to do next.

Search on Microsoft Help and Support if they don't have a repair tool?

Are you running SP1?
If your not using it yet its the only Windows Update available, Try downloading the standalone version and it will fix the BITS service.
