SP1 RC1 Uninstall Error

Im guessing you used the SP1 cleanup tool?

negative ....i have only just this second tried to remove it via ''programs & features''

could there be another app hindering its removal..??

negative ....i have only just this second tried to remove it via ''programs & features''

Yes, anything you have installed since using RC1...

Prime suspects are system tools, antivirus/firewall software and registry changes...Have you installed/updated any of these since installing RC1?

lol....yes alot has gone on since i installed the RC ....

so my best bet is looking like a system restore ......surly that will still work
a reformat is really gonna spoil my day..

Yeah there should defiantly be a restore point for RC1 you can use to restore back, If it doesn't work on the first attempt using Vista you might have to boot the Vista-DVD Repair option for a system restore

it finally expired at 9 this morning ..i was surfing & an error window popped up & restarted the machine.
so i thought ..that's it ..as it was rebooting i stopped by the bios to boot from CD & reinstall. & then thought well i will just let it boot to see what it actually says
& it fired straight back up ...the activation keys in the taskbar have now dissapeared...????

so here i am on the 2nd of july still running my 6001 evaluation build

WTF !!!!!!!! did i just spend nearly 13hrs backing up my files to discs for nothing....
