I am going to be getting Vista Home premium 64 bit OEM.
My question is , after installing it should I do all the Automatic updates before I activate it or vice versa. I have read some conflicting stories and thought hmm better ask the pro's.

i know there is some conflicts with drivers ect with SP1 however im lead to believe that it will check you hardware and decide if it should be downloaded and installed
if you have all the relevant drivers already the there is really no need to update b4 hand
i cant really see any reason why you should not though
That's what I thought, I have already downloaded the relevant drivers and made sure that my favourite software was compatible. Thanks for the info. I recently did a bunch of work on my sisters pc which came with vista, it seemed to put a lot of vista horror stories to rest, which is why I decided to go ahead and switch. Original plan was xp 64 but thought what the heck go for it.
Thanks again
