Can I upgrade from Vista ultimate 32 bit to Vista Ultimate 64 bit?

I currently have a system with a core 2 quad chip xq6700 intel that was installed with XP then upgraded to Vista Ultimate 32 bit and now I'd like to upgrade the whole system to 64 bit Vista ultimate. Is this doable, Will Windows Office 2007 still work? I'm ultimately wanting to install some video software editing program like Avid Media Center, should I try this or set up a dual boot system or what?

Thanks for the reply.

Did you start with 32bit then apply the 64 bit version over the top?

Gypsy Nick

the x64 is a totally new installation. you will automatically get a dual boot with both vista 32 and 64.

Vista-32\64 Upgrade I did I bought and upgrade versuion to 64\vista it upgraded my 32\to64 I made it xp2 compatible lolol
cause my Mother board Supports 32\64 bit oparating systems all it did was cause I have the same mother board and chip settings.
just took the oprateing system vista 32 out and replaced it to \vista64,
I Only had to install my Ethither net card Antilansic cause I Origonal installed it under the 32 bit and my sound card everything else is working fine, where there a way there a will people say you can't you canback up you're data first the move it over to the newdirectory where vista 64 is going my friends from Microsoft walked me through it was hard to it compressed all the data and files made them run faster and I had no errors like I did with the Origonal 32bit version.
you can sue programs like Ghost to make more then just an Image copy there are new software to speed it up mine to a full five hours after the first 2 hours for the 64 install.
and everything is fully registered but if yea have the time and pations it can be done look at all the programmers that come on here from Microsoft and said it can't be Done I did it.

it takes the effort and this friend of mine is really good with any version of windows the principals applied are the key.

thats why he took his trainning for to fix problems and make them work,

he had 10 Teryabyte HARD drivers making copies just in case each one was successfull in copying my back up copies if one fais just pop in the next drive but he put full safes pations on the drives in them like the preinstalled oem versions like HP does :) actullly it's better then the HP Version lolol

I think when Microsoft comes out with there next version of an OS version it better have thease fail safes put in to it makes the copy if the instilation and puts everything back.
yea Know Brink lololit would be a great thing to And Not Charge as Much for the OS

if they wan't all thease extra features give them the option not fource the Bloat ware on the systems .
