So I was looking around these forums and although I came across a number of x64 related problems, but I couldn't find this exact one. To give a run down of my system specs real quick, eVGA 680i, two raptors in RAID 0, two 8800GTs in SLI and 4GB of 1066MHz, and here is the error message I get, I followed the MS link but didnt find that to be too helpful anyway if anyone has seen this before please let me know. Thanks

yes i had this 1 when i wanted to install SP1
i was having trouble with installing a pre service pack 1 update

be sure you have all the updates needed
if you have any that fail to install then you could be in trouble
be sure to run disc error checking also
then re-try sp1

Thanks for the reply, however I'm pretty sure that I have all the pre-SP1 updates installed because in the Windows Update it doesn't say that I have except for SP1 and when I try installing SP1 off the automatic update I get the message, anyone seen that before?

Thanks, yeah I had tried, but that's actually where I get the first error message from and then then the second one is when I tried doing it through the automatic update. I might need to get a disc of Vista with a SP1 integrated on it.

Hello Nymosis.

If you're getting an error when you try the standalone (my link) then you
do have something else going on, and I'm out of suggestions for the moment.

Maybe someone else will have some other ideas.
I hope you can get it sorted.
