Hi Fieseler,

Directx Updates do appear in windows update but not in the version that comes with your pc (Windows Update)

You need to use the online version and select custom updates when it's searching

Use your Start menu to check for updates

Hey Fieseler,

DirectX updates do not appear in Windows Update because they get distributed with newly released applications that require them like Games, This is usually the only time they are actually need updating but for most users they do not need the extra 80mb DirectX-extra-package since they dont play games ;)

However for people who do not reinstall games or who feel like having the latest directX update with full support for every game (installed or Uninstalled) It is offered here http://www.vistax64.com/gaming/162064-latest-directx-update.html

Wasted,

That link never has and never will work with Vista, It is designed for Pre-Vista Operating Systems and DirectX will never show up their either :sarc:
