| Vista 64 bit | Black moniter after update After installing 2 updates from the windows update (one for my viewsonic moniter and the other for nvidia ata controller, sad thing is they were optional ones), my moniter wont work. When first powered up its fine, shows bios then since I also have my tv hooked through hdmi, it switchs picture over to it when windows boots up. I have tried to restore, reload the drivers for my moniter and graphic cards, and some loud cursing, but nothing has worked yet. I did figure out if I unplug my moniter and plug it back in, the nvidia control panel will let me switch the picture back to my moniter but with only 1024x768 and thats the highest it will go and wont let me adjust. I run windows vista 64 bit with duel 9800gx2 and a viewsonic vg2230wm moniter. Im at a crossroads and have no idea what to do next, can anyone please help. |

| Vista home premium 64 bit | Re: Black moniter after update Boot up into safe mode by pressing F8 at startup. Delete the devices from your computer and uninstall the software. Reset your computer. Vista will tell you it has detected new devices. Get your trusty installation disk out for the two devices. Update the drivers from the manufacturer website. write a note to yourself saying "Never allow MS update to update graphics or screen drivers again" Problem solved. |
