when going to the windows update window,
i get a white blank page and it says "the page failed to load"
    i did restart, same issue...

    what is it all about?

and another thing, i don't have a Floppy drive in my computer

To remove the floppy drive go into your bios and turn it off.

Do you get any sort of internet problems?

    Microsoft Update

    Try the link.

Re: The page failed to load, Vista Update

I have the same problem. I can fix it by going into task manager, end process to explorer.exe and then go to file new, enter explorer.exe and restart it. This helps but it's only temporary. Please help I hate this. Not only does it now load page to update, but severla other tasks. I had this problem for two weeks now, i reformatted my pc 3 times, last format i lost everything becasue i reformatted my data drive and not the OS, so this problem caused me to lose everything. I'm trying to recover usinf Recover My Files, but since i reformatted and defragmented my pc, i think i lost everything. Thanks for anyone that can help.

Also I want to point out that when i did my clean install, i have the microsoft SP! DVD that i purchased from them. Is it better to use this DVD or do I just let windows update it.

Re: The page failed to load, Vista Update

I just signed up to Vista forums to reply to your problem. I've been having the same problem and been going nuts trying to fix it (kaspersky rescue disk full scan, reset windows update by editing reg ect) Well anyway, the solution was simple....I upgraded WindowBlinds!!! THAT WAS IT!!!! I can't blame them, that's what I get for using the beta version I hope this will help many people with the same situation.
NOTE: just realized thet this post was dated 10/13/2008...not today, which is 10/13/2009!!!! Anyway, it came up on google as one of the top search results for this error so I'm sure other people are likely to stumble across this page.

I have the same "page failed to load error" and have come across two posts now suggesting that URL. However, when I attempt to visit it I am told I lack sufficient privilege and therefore can't view it.

The link is dead for long time.As @bizzar721 said:If you have installed Windows Blinds then please uninstall this program even if you untill now you didn't have any issue with this.Last time this program was many time responsible for this issue like your.
