huge sp 1 problem! help!

hey guys. i am having a huge problem. i just tried to install sp1 for vista. it downoaded, then i restarted my computer. bad idea i guess. it froze in part 2 of 3, and now my computer won't boot at all. i get an error saying that there is no OS anymore.

is there anyway i can get my computer to boot without having to do a ful system restore? i have tried doing a system restore from restore points, but no luck.


i have an hp a6334f
vista home premium
Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E4500
• 2.20GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 800MHz Front Side Bus
Intel® G33 Express Chipset
3072 MB (2 x 1024 MB 2 x 512 MB)
ati radeon hd2600 pro

* the error i get saying no OS is from trying to do a restore form previous restore points

if i have to do a full sysem restore, is there anyway i can retreive the lost data?
