On my ex's Dell Inspiron 1525, she booted it up one day and it said 'Configuring Updates' Then about 5 seconds later it says
'root cause found
boot critical file c: \ntoskrnl.exe is corrupt
repair action : file repair
result: error code : oxa'

Then we managed to get it too boot and it started the Startup Repair tool and reboots. Then says 'Configuring Updates' then claimes ntoskrnl.exe is corrupt yet again... please help me...for her laptop, if not for my peace of mind...she's driving me wild. >.<

As I said, It won't get to the logon screen, it tries to configure them but it doesn't work. I fixed it though...I just used the repair windows function on the install DVD and managed to restore all of her old files for her.
