Vista - Internet explorer 7 - won't upgrade

I use Vista 64 and am unable to upgrade my Internet Explorer. It comes with the following fail message everytime I try.

Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 7 in Windows Vista for x64-based Systems (KB958215)
Installation date: 18/12/2008 10:11 AM
Installation status: Failed
Error details: Code 8007371C

The error code doesn't mean much to me and the replies don't solve the problem. Doing an ugrade listing does show that, whilst other Microsoft programs upgrade, the Vista 64 Internet explorer 7 upgrades NEVER install.

Any solutions out there?

I'm using Internet explorer 8 beta 2,and since i started using it I've had no problems and i like the new features like Accelerators,Web Slices,InPrivate Browsing,Visual Search,Suggested Sites and SmartScreen Filter.Before i was using IE7 and found it to be slow compared to IE8 Beta 2.

Thanks Jaffa, but IE 8 is also beta software, and the OP may have a need to keep IE 7, and your post does not really offer any solution to the problem at hand.

KeesW, have you tried checking your add-ons in IE 7 and disabling as much of them as possible? Have you also scanned your system for malware? I suggest using Malwarebytes.org as a second scanner as well....

Finally, it may be that you'll need to search M$'s site for that error message....
