Removing Service Pack 1 from a HP laptop

I just got a HP laptop with Vista Home Premium x64 on it with service pack 1 included. I need to remove the service pack (it is not listed on the programs and features list) so that I can upgrade to Vista Ultimate x64. How do I do it or is their another way to get the Ultimate upgrade to work on the newer version of Home Premium?

I think that because SP1 came pre installed it is not possible to un-install it.
you shouldn't really have any problems to upgrade to X64 as to upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit will require you to format your hard drive thus removing the previously install vista 32 and SP1

Have a look here:

How to Uninstall Windows Vista SP1

Assuming the manufacturer hasn't already 'cleaned' the SP1 temp files.

I wasn't aware that you had to uninstall SP1 to do Vista upgrades. Am I missing something?

At any rate here's a few upgrade options to look over.
