Hi danster.
Could this be ntoskrnl.exe as opposed to ntoskrn 1.exe?
If it is then that's a very important file. Here is some information on how to get it back hopefully.
It gives a couple probable causes.
NTOSKRNL.EXE is missing or corrupt. ntoskrnl.exe - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It talks about XP but I know it still applies. Try the method in here. If it works then after you get into windows you might want to run SFC and checkdisk.
System Files - SFC Command Check Disk - chkdsk
