| Vista Home Premium 32bit. | Service pack 1= unable to boot to windows Hi all: Your posts have been really helpful in the past and I always check here first when I have a problem. I allowed Vista service pack 1 to install via windows update alert.(Vista 32 Premium) - My pc rebooted after install and screen stalled with one row of numbers showing on the upper left of black screen.(I didn't write them down) -Tried to boot in safe mode twice and it stopped with a long list of files showing as loading on the screen. -Tried repair with Windows Vista OEM disc repair option and the first time it did not work and when it rebooted it stopped with one row of numbers showing on the upper left of black screen same as before. -System restore was able to run on a second try and my machine reverted back to pre sp1 installation. I tried the Microsoft Help and Support site mentioned in another post several times but when I submit my question I get "Sorry, the page you requested is not available". I would appreciate any suggestions Thanks Jaff |

| Vista Home Premium OEMAct | Re: Service pack 1= unable to boot to windows This sounds like the same problem i've got. It seems to install sp1 fine and goes through the 3 installation steps and then reboots. After this reebot i get stuck in DOS with error code !! 0xc 0000034 !! 248/91334 (_0000000000000000.cdf-ms) I can do a system restore back to before i had sp1. Every time i retry sp1 installation the same error occurs. I dont want to do a clean re-install of vista. Im running home premium. //Regards Jonas |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit. | Re: Service pack 1= unable to boot to windows I did finally sort it out after many emails back and forth to microsoft support. I am not sure what actually did work and I had to reinstall a driver for my sound card as I lost my audio in the process. The support person was very helpful. I started at this Microsoft support page Help and Support or http://support.microsoft.com/oas/def...4&gprid=500921 Hope it goes well Jaff |
