Vista - Update webpage vista ?

Hiya , first time poster sorry for something that's been posted before , i'm trying to use Microsoft Update on my new vista pc , and i get some self help speil and "Error number: 0x80070002" tried a few things and still can't get the page working as it does on my xp m/c . I telephoned microsoft and the guy told me it should work on both xp and vista and he thought the site was down , but it does work on my xp but not my vista , can someone confirm for me it defo' works on vista ? My pc is 3 days old i had a vista m/c 7 months ago and it went belly (this is a replacement under warranty) so i suppose that was a warning ? . Cheers JJ .

A quick Google search returned this: You receive a "0x80070002" or "0x80070003" error code after you download an update from Windows Update, from Microsoft Update, or from Windows Server Update Services

Also, I might add that you don't need to use the Microsoft Update site with Vista. In Vista, you should have a Windows Update applet in your Control Panel, and that will do the trick just fine. Start Button > Control Panel > Windows Update.
