Vista - Windows vista update problem!!!!

When i try to update my windows, i get this error 80244019. i also cant update my security software. I am connected to my router(wired) which is connected to my modem. Any tips?

well, i think something might be wrong with my router b/c it happens to all my computers that are connected to it wired and wireless.

Hello Shyamo108, The folks here are very helpful but you need to give them as much imfo as possible. What is the make and model of the router? Also a good idea to fill out your system specs.

i have a netgear rangemax wpn824 v2. i have optimum as my internet provider and i have a motorola 5bv5120 surfboars modem.

If you try everything above and didn't help, how about power recycle (unplug and replug the power) your router. Next, call your ISP to check and rebuild the connector on the cat 5.

is there a way to reeset the router to factory settings?

Resetting your router to factory settings will not make any difference . The error can happen on all of your systems if a virus / malware has damaged the registry and is still living on the network. the error code on windows update and the inability to update your security software meansd that the systems are 9/10 times infected by a Virus / Malware.
