| vista home premium 32bit | Update gets stucked! Hello there, I am a new Vista Home Premium 32bit user. I just bought my new PC yesterday, it is an INTEL QUAD CORE, with 4 Gb RAM and it came with Vista pre installed.. I also installed PANDA Global security 2009, original of course. So the problem is this: Each time I shut down the computer, it installs downloaded updates for Vista, the first time was ok , but the second time it said it was installing 34 updates, so when it reaches ..34 of 34, it just stays there, does not shut down, and when I hit the reset button, it boots normally but when I try to shut down again, it says: istalling 34 of 34 and stays like that again.... ![]() Please help me, and forgive my English!!! Thanks in advance for any help! |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: Update gets stucked! hey George, when I first got my updates through I had 24 to install and I had to leave my laptop running though the night before it shut down on its own. How long have you let it run in that process?? |

| Vista Ultimate SP2 x64 : Seven Ultimate x64 | Re: Update gets stucked! When you say it doesn't shut down, is it sitting at the 'shutting down' screen with a lot of HD activity? When installing a lot of updates in one go, like jeddess said, you need to leave it on as it can take quite a bit of time to install. Try disabling the automatic updates to see if that gets you out of the loop. (Control Panel>Windows update>change settings>Never check for updates) If that stops the loop, try downloading the updates manually (check for updates) and only select a couple at a time. |

| vista home premium 32bit | Re: Update gets stucked! I left it running for about 40 minutes... you think I should give it more time? Will try that first and if it doesn't work, I'll try disabling the automatic updates. Thank you both! |
