USB composite device dc3d update

I installed the USB composite device dc3d and a windows defender update just now (2-3-09) and now my cd/dvd drive shows as "device with removable storage" it has always shown as a hard drive. What's going on here. That composite device dc3d should not effect your cd/dvd drive should it? What do I need to do? Really, that drive has removable media since you can burn things to dvd/cd and remove them. Looks like something is wrong here.

I've been doing some checking and it looks like this may have fixed the cofiguration I have had all along. A cd/dvd drive SHOULD show as "devices with removable storage". It had always shown as a hard drive. Tell me if I'm wrong.

Re: USB composite device dc3d update

Thank you very much. I do wonder why this optional update for a USB device would cause this to happen. I guess it's right now so that's good. I have been loosing view settings in windows explorer since that update too so be careful. Now I have to go to Brinks tutorial on how to make Windows explorer keep it's settings. There is something odd going on with the updates from Windows yesterday for Vista x64 systems.

Thanks for responding.
