Vista - Error : 0xc000000f

Hi,
I am new to this so if you can help out, it would be much appreciated.

I just reformatted my computer to start fresh, but when I open windows update half of the updates fail, and when i reboot i cant get into windows:

file: \windows\system32\winload.exe
status: 0xc000000f

It gives me two choices

1. restart and use vista disc to repair
2. use windows memory diagnostic

I am running Vista Home Premium 32 bit

Boot from the Vista DVD, go to the repair options and from there open the command prompt and type this in the window. (its best you either print this out or look at it from a laptop or different computer)
copy c:\windows\system32\boot\winload.exe c:\windows\system32\
and secondly, download this update http://www.microsoft.com/DOWNLOADS/d...displaylang=en as this is the update that is causing the failure.

I downloaded the update, but this time it goes to windows and says i need to install all the updates again. So basically Im back to where I was before i tried to update ?!
