| Vista Ultimate x64 | Control Panel is EMPTY, Lost all printers I run Vista Ultimate 64 and have problem with the EMPTY CONTROL PANEL, consequently I lost all printers connections. I need help here on how to solve this. I was prompted by Window Live One Care to clean registry and used Eusing Registry Cleaner, and ran it twice. After I noticed the problems with the empty control panel I restored the registries through same Eusing Registry Cleaner. But seems that arm is done and my Control Panel is definitely empty and disappearing after some seconds. As some forums answers were mentioning it, I tried to re-install SP1 but this is not allowed. Seems that similar users with Vista had the the same problem some time ago, but did not find the proper fix. If no other solution than to re-install O/S can we do this in keeping all data and configuration? Thanks for your help. H |

| Vista Ultimate SP2 x64 Windows 7 Ultimate x64 TECHNET | Re: Control Panel is EMPTY, Lost all printers Hi Hugues, You can try a system restore to before it happened. That is if you have SR turned on in the first place. You could also try a repair install if you have the Vista installation disk. A repair install will keep your files/settings. You could also try running SFC to see if it can get you into a better situation than present. | Vista Business 32 | Re: Control Panel is EMPTY, Lost all printers Go to administrative tools>>services Once here find print spooler and start it. You can right click it, go to properties and select for it to start up automatically You might find more services are disabled, henceforth you are missing a whole heap of stuff. Sounds like virus damage in a way. |

| VISTA HOME PREMIUM X64/ 7 x64 / 7x86 | Re: Control Panel is EMPTY, Lost all printers Hi, If it still isn't fixed, someone can export the following registry key, zip it and post it up for the OP to merge ( mine is not default) HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Wow6432Node\CLSID It will be about 4-5mb. SIW2 |
