KB890830(MRT.exe

My PC is set to auto update and it installed this update which was a Malicious software removal tool. But every time I boot up the PC it asked me to run this exe.
I disabled it in the Startup in msconfig. Was this the right thing to do? Does this thing need to run on startup?

It must have been a bad update. Somthing happend and I restored to a earlier point and reinstalled the update and all was good.
