Re: Code 80070081

If you put the 0x in front of the number and google with these terms

windows error code 0x80070081

you get hits. Generally it's a good idea to google first since the error code is in any problem description. Looks in this case like it's not a windows error but a code from some software maker.

And this is also to Traganon -

What software have you both installed, or even the last 3 peices of software. uninstall those and see what happens, i had similar problems before. not the same code but it did mess my premissions up. difference is i did a full format and started again.

But it will be linked to software that was recently installed

Re: Code 80070081

I have gone back to the day after install of windows fresh the only thing installed at that point was Ms office Avast and WoW..

All of which have never caused problems before and not on the other 3 pc's I have...

I"m seriously looking down the barrel of a full install.

Re: Code 80070081

OK well I finally gave waiting to see if Micsoft was going to help me.

I figured if I have to do a fresh install I may as well install windows 7 that I have had laying around here for a while and see what the fuss is all about...

I gotta say I'm not that impressed yet and I can't update that either........

get error code 80080005 on that one ... I think there is something smally in MS camp.... I"m starting to think Apple might bge the answer... every couple of year MS goes to ****..
