Hi raviknt.... ;)

if this is the result of an update you installed a few days ago, then i'd suggest either manually uninstalling the specific updates from the ''control panel'' or running a ''system restore''

roll it back to just before the updates......

hope this helps.....

Zip up and upload that "C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini031109-02.dmp" file here and someone might be able to tell you more about why the box crashed.

check your RAM is good mate, in my experience that BSOD has been related to bad RAM in the past.....

personally i hate ''memtest'' i cant trust it, but for a quick test run ORTHOS, set it to.. priority 8 blend & stress CPU & RAM, these settings will show up errors in minutes..;)

if the stress test fails then you have a bad RAM stick....if it does not fail within 10 mins then you can rule the RAM out as an issue...

Any time that the BSoD screen actually identifies a non-OS driver, you can be sure it's a good idea to remove that driver, or at least update it.

"efe5b32c.sys" <=== problem

Try to first work out what that driver does, then whether you actually need it. If you do, find the latest version and see whether that helps to end the BSoDs.

---------------------------
There's no obvious mention on the web of a "efe5b32c.sys" driver, which is odd and somewhat suspicious. The name is comprised entirely of hex-valid characters, which sometimes suggests an attempt to morph into something that's difficult to search for. I hope it turns out that the driver is legit and that I'm just paranoid :)

You already wrote the name of the driver in one of your earlier posts:

"Technical Information:
stop: 0x000000D1
efe5b32c.sys - Address FFFFFA6002CEC3E1
base at FFFFFA6002CDE000 Datestamp 45ddfe89"

That's a straight cut'n'paste from your post. It's telling you that a driver called "efe5b32c.sys" accessed memory that it shouldn't have been touching.

You now need to work out how that driver got onto your machine, in other words, what's it for, whether you actually need it, and if so whether there's a newer version available.

If you just leave it, the same thing might happen again.

My Computer

thanks h2so4, I didn't know that THIS is the driver (efe5b32c.sys) as i'm not into techinical terms much, so where can find this driver? and how can i find that if i need this driver 'cause i am not getting much help about this driver from the net.

hey I think i messed it up, it was not 'efe5b32c.sys' but 'efe5b32e.sys' and this is "Intel(R) PRO/100 Adapter NDIS 5.1 driver" (network adapter driver) version 8.0.44.0. I goggled it and updated this driver (version 9.12.30.0) from Intel website but I think it's still messing up with my system and getting restarted again and again. what shall I do?

You should zip up the newest 3 files with a DMP extension in your C:\Windows\minidump folder and upload them here for people to analyse. Someone might be able to tell you why the box is crashing.

My Computer

I don't know how to upload the files here. pl. help.

Click the "Go Advanced" button, then the little paperclip ("attachments" button), then browse to the file you want to upload.

Also, DMP is not one of the file extensions accepted by the site, so either zip up the files first (ZIP is accepted), or change their extensions to say TXT before attempting an upload.

thanx skunksmash but I have'nt created any restore points yet...so I guess this option won't do.

There should be a restore point created every time before an update is installed. If you check into setup and restore from control panel and select repair by restore to see if there are helpful restore points to revers system to the state prior to the problem occurred.

Hope this helps.

Your machine is indeed crashing because of that driver. The version you've got on there is from 2007. Almost certainly, there would be newer builds by now. I'd suggest you find the very latest:

Image path: \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\efe5b32e.sys
Image name: efe5b32e.sys
Timestamp: Sat Nov 17 05:59:04 2007 (473DE878)

My Computer

At last got it! thanx H2so4, THIS IS THE latest driver (2007), i found out on the Intel website. I uninstalled the network driver totally and reinstalled the 2007 driver again and there is no problem since then. thanks a lot!

ps. I think every problem has got a very SIMPLE solution:)

Glad to hear it Raviknt. Presumably the actual driver binary itself was corrupted, or perhaps it was reading bad settings during initialisation previously which were fixed when you reinstalled the driver package.
