Vista - can't update .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and .NET Framework 3.5(KB951847

I tried to install this 3X now it stays hidden.
The error just says must revert back or something.

The answer to this is to uninstall everything NET framework and then reinstall it all again have a look here for details on how to do this;

I don't know why or how this works, but it did. I had the same problem, plus other update issues. Whilst searching for a solution to Error 80070652
Error Code: 80070652
I came up with a simple approach that solved the problem and also remarkably solved my problem with this issue as well.

Started Task Manager, clicked on Show processes from all users, and stopped sprtcmd.exe TWICE. I then installed ALL of my failed updates successfully.

I have no idea what sprtcmd.exe is or what it does. I've asked for help with that at the thread above. Tune in!

Well, hell. What do I lose if I get rid of the damned thing after purchasing a freakin' lifetime (practically) of Dell Support? And please, don't tell me how stupid I was to do that alrightee? *rolls eyes*

Hopefully you have discs that came with your rig. that way just in case you need the file, just search the disc and put it back.

I updated to SP2 and the .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update is gone!
