| Vista Home Premium 32bit | continous restarts after updates installed I have Vista Home Premium 32bit. A few weeks ago I tried to install a number of updates for Windows. After installing the updates, my computer tried to restart. On restarting, the system seemed to stall on a page that said completing install 1 of 3, 0% completed. After about 15-20 seconds, the computer shut down and then restarted. This continued to happen over and over and over. Finally, I manually shut down the computer by holding the power button for 10 seconds. Then I restarted the computer and was able to find my way to a system restore. I've tried several times to install the updates but I have run into the same problem. If anyone has any idea how to fix this problem so I can download the updates, I'd sincerely appreciate your help. Thanks |

| Vista Home 64bit | Re: continous restarts after updates installed Im having this same problem. Safe mode does not work, booting at last known good configuration does not work either. I have a cd that came with the manufacturer, as opposed to the vista installation disc. The cd claims that repair software has been pre-installed, but it doesnt show up on the advanced boot screen. Any help would be appreciated. Especially without destroying existing data. ... I have the 64 bit edition of Vista home premium. |

| VISTA HOME PREMIUM X64/ 7 x64 / 7x86 | Re: continous restarts after updates installed Hi Kudaros, If there is no "repair my computer" option or similar on the boot disc supplied with your machine, you can download the recovery options .iso and burn it to cd from here: Download: Windows Vista x64 Recovery Disc — The NeoSmart Files Try booting from that and doing a system restore to a point before the problem started. Hope it helps. |

| Vista Home 64bit | Re: continous restarts after updates installed I appreciate the reply, im getting on this now. Once I restore it to before that point, will I experience the same problems if I change nothing at all about the update options? Should I install updates manually one at a time (in general or just for this round)? |
