| Vista business x64 | Re: Vista updates are taking too much space Yes Every time you install 'major' updates windows will first create a new system restore point (if you have it enabled, which you should, and it is by default). If you find you're low on space just go to System restore window and DISABLE it. This will completely wipe your HDD clear of ANY system restore points that were previously hogging up space. (these files/folders are hidden and you cant see them but they do diminish available diskspace). After youve done this you can re-enable it and create a new restore point. That way you won't have 10+ useless restore point hogging up data but just 1, which is more than enough =) |

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: Vista updates are taking too much space Or a better idea if your low on space is to go to My Computer, Right click on your main drive, then click on Properties, then click on Disk Cleanup, Files from all users on this computer, go to the More Options tab, and click Clean up Where it says System Restore and Shadow Copies. This will delete all restore points EXCEPT for the most recent. |
