Vista updates, reduce the burden on network

To reduce the burden on the network I would need software that would allow download Windows updates to one machine in the network and then distribute it to another pc stations with Vista os. Is there an application that make it possible in network with workgroup model? Thank in advice for help.

Windows updates are offered only when your PC is in need of them. Hence Vista first checks for the missing update and sends it to you. You wont be able to download updates for any other pc though.

WSUS does what you described:

Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) Home

But I'm guessing your bolding of "workgroup model" means you don't have servers or a domain. That's not going to work. Once an org reaches a certain size, it becomes difficult to directly manage individual machines without a centralised server-based infrastructure.
