Cant' update an x86 (vista) system. Keep getting the Code: 8007EFD, which basically says it is firewalled. The only firewall I know of is the Windows firewall. It also seems to be the only firewall that Windows security is aware of either. This happens whether or not the Windows firewall is turned on or not. Have tried the methods here:

I have tried it with all security off (Winpatrol, Spybot, Super anti Spyware, Avast, Windows Defender, and Windows Firewall), still no love. I have checked the coputer up and down for malware and viruses (it's a friends computer) and found and removed Internet AntiVirus, Win32 Adload.R and Video.exe. Have scanned with HJT, SAS, Malawarebytes Anti Malware (mbam), Combofix and GMER. Everything is up to date except of course MBAM, which just released version 1.37 this morning, and I haven't turned that computer on since 4 am (US, EST).
Any suggestions?
