I'm sure somebody will supply a more technical explanation than i can , but basically it removes unnecessary files that have been updated . But is also makes sp2 permanent , so you should be absolutely sure you wont want to remove it

Did you use it? I read it removes SP1 also.

Yes i have used it , as i had also used the original tool to clean up sp1 . Cant say i noticed any real difference other than i small gain in free hd space . To be honest its probably a bit early to be running it as you should give sp2 time to settle in , who knows what problems you might get , and you would be unable to remove it . I have enough computers and backups to be able to take the risk .
