Vista Pro
So, installed SP2 and now the Windows Live Messenger will not start. All the other apps from Live work, but Messenger refuses.

Anyone else found this?

Yeh! I thought I was the only one with this. Thing is the only thing that I did was install SP2..thats it! I tried a reinstall of the messenger from the live installer, but that just bums out. Ive installed Trillian Astra as a stop gap, until someone/microsoft can give us some kind of fix.

Ok the problem lies with vistas autotuning. Dont mess about uninstalling and reinstalling just click on start-run and type

netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled

Thats it, after this messenger should connect.

If you want to reverse this just type.

netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal.

Happy trails.:D

My Computer

Hi. Thanks, but it does not seem to work on my system:(
Ive decided to run Trillian Astra until MS decides it needs to find a solution.
