| Ultimate x64 SP2 | Start Menu, Task Bar gone after SP 1 I looked for threads on this but didn't see any. If you can redirect me, great, if not... I just installed SP 1 and now the Start Menu and Task Bar are gone. It was a lot of work to install. I'd hate to have to take it back out again. Task Bar wasn't locked but wasn't set to hide either. Any takers?... |

| Ultimate x64 SP2 | Re: Start Menu, Task Bar gone after SP 1 It's OK now after uninstall, clean up disks and re-install. SP 1 and 2 are both in both machines as I told kikidee. It is SP1. I bought Vista Ultimate, two of them (x64,x86) for 2 PCs last year, early, before any SPs were available. I did google up what I could find for trouble shooting before hand (and after). Also read up on MS site and followed their directions. SP 1 and 2 went in flawlessly on the 64 and I stated the problem with the 32. Also had no security software installed yet (new reformat and install) and firewall turned off. So I guess a good disk cleanup is what it needed. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. Your guess is as good as mine what it really was. Thanks anyway for the inquiry, JMH |
