| Newbie | SP1 taking a long time to install I've recently re-installed Windows Vista (32 bit version) and am now trying to install Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) onto my Dell Precision M6300 with 4GB of RAM. The bar (to indication progression of installation) goes across the screen quite quickly to about the half way point and then just sits there for hours. I've let it stay for three hours to date and it won't go any further although the bar animation is still working away. Is it that it just takes a very long time to install (maybe overnight might work?) or is it hanging through some reason or other? This is very frustrating and any information/advice would be very welcome. |

| Newbie | Re: SP1 taking a long time to install I've installed all of the updates except for KP929777 which won't install. Evidently this is a know problem for any computer having 4GB of RAM. |
