Vista - Cumulative Security Update error code 8007371C

I can't install Cumulative Security Update for IE7 for Windows Vista x64- based Systems (KB969897) and I'm using IE7. Failed Errors found, Code 8007371C . It says Important Update. It says Windows Update encountered an unkown error. Appreciate any help Thank You.

Download this hotfix from Microsoft Download http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
and install it in safe mode

Hi Flavius, I tried to install that link I have IE7 and found that link, but it won't let me install it in safe mode. I tried to install it without safe mode but said installation failed. I think you have something there by using safe mode. But I don't think it will let me do it in safe mode. Appreciate your concern have any ideas how I can do it in safe mode ? Thanks.

It could be any trouble with IE7

1.Run cmd.exe with administrative previlliges (right click on this file as admin) and type

sfc /scannow

2.The good way to workaround this problem is installing IE8 http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/worldwide-sites.aspx
installing newest version is also method to repair any errors for IE

Hi Flavius,Thanks for your help, microsoft ain't helping me much, so I'm just going to keep that Update hid. I've worked on it for 3 weeks I give up - makes me mad my computer is a month and a half old 900 dollars. I'll use a different browser if I have to. microsoft can't figure it out either. I appreciate your help - will.

you dont have to, but i'd run IE8 if anything now or get mozilla firefox 3.5 when it launches officially because IE8 is about 52% more responsive and faster than IE7 and Firefox 3.5 is just all get out as far as complete as a broswer goes.

I think you should try install IE8,I also prefer Firefox neverless IE is necessary -You have much chance installing IE8 will resolve your problem with IE
