Vista - Problems after windows update

I installed the latest windows updates for my computer yesterday, after i restarted and logged back in almost none of my programs will work other than 64 bit IE (that's how im posting this)the update said it was successfully installed. I've checked my firewall to make sure it wasn't blocking anything and ran virus/spy ware checks and nothing was found, this has happened before but I fixed it by running system restore. I tried that this time and it didn't work...this is really frustrating ..help me, please?

I understand what you mean, This has happend to me alot I did loads of checks, System Restore did not work either, Is your computer running slow now?

I eventually got system restore to work after a few tries in safe mode, but i had to restore it to almost a month ago, but no I didn't notice it running any slower.

Explain it exactly whats going on -what return error? Windows Update or (if everything updated) any part of system - what kind of error?-We need more details

I get this erro code 80070424 when i tray to see if ther is new updats, i can´t get i to worke.
And it files like that my com slow, after i have got the problem
