Vista 64 SP2 problem or not?

Since I installed SP2 last night my pc cannot get a dynamically assigned address from the router (Dynalink RTA1046VW), and my workaround was to give it an address at the limit of the routers range.

PC said it was on local network, but nothing was visible except myself. I could not ping other computers on the network.

Device manager said network card working properly.

The only thing that suggests the SP2 is not responsible is that my dual boot RC7 could not access the network either. I have not yet rechecked Win7, (antivirus still running) but if it cannot connect will employ same workaround.

Both indicated local network only, no internet connection, but could not see other computers, and could not be seen by other network members.

Update: Win7 needed same workaround.
