| Vista Home Premium x64 (SP2) | Windows Updates Caused IE8 to "Forget" All My Password Settings IE8 had been great in remembering all of my password settings, however, ever since Windows installed several Updates a couple of days ago, my IE8 does not remember my password settings. Here’s a list of the 9 Windows Updates that were installed. I have no idea which (if any) of them caused the problem. Any suggestions as to how to repair IE8 so that it will again remember my password settings? I’ve tried to reset them, but each time I go onto a site, I have to enter the password all over again. I don’t want to do a System Restore if I don’t have to, so please help, if you can. Thanks so much. Here’s the list: 1. Definition Update for Windows Defender KB915597 2. Update for Windows Vista for x64 based systems KB9683389 3. Security Update for Windows Vista for x64 based systems KB956744 4. Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 – August 2009 KB890830 5. Update for Windows Mail Junk Email Filter for x64 based systems KB905866 6. Security Update for Windows Vista for x64 based systems KB973507 7. | Vista Home Premium x64 (SP2) | Phew!!! I got very lucky! Turns out, it was only IE8 that was affected, and I was able to fix the problem by going into IE, changing all of the Password memory options back to the default, logging out of IE8, and then logging back in again, and re-setting the options to where I wanted them. Problem solved! |
