Vista - how can i fix error 80072efd?

Hello,

I haven't been able to perform any updates or download files and the error 80072EFD keeps coming up. I have tried many things but nothing works. I tried may things like unistalling spywares, changing the proxies, adding address to allow list, but nothing seems to work. Any idea how to fix this? thx

Run cmd.exe with administrative previlliges (right click on this file as admin) and type

netsh winhttp reset proxy

+restart

Try also reset IE and disable bad add-ones Internet Explorer - Reset

Stop for the moment Windows Update service,remove C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder and try again install updates.You can also try install updates from Microsoft Download Center (not from Windows Updates)

Thank u for ur reply. I came across the link u sent me a few weeks ago and did everything but it didnt work. I ran the file like u told me n i got aresponse saying "no proxies" i restart but i still nothing. Not only i can not dowload updates but i can not download anything to my laptop. This is sooooo fustrating!! I had sent my laptop 3 times for repairment to the factory (hp) and everytime they sent it with more problems. I hate windows!!!!!! their support ppl sucks. Im def turning to a Mac but for now i really really need to fix this thing!!
On a personal note i got to say after all the problems i have had with this laptop n the stupid winfows vista.. Windows is a piece trash with all this stupid problems n virus, and their support dept is a waist of time, is ridiculous!
Pls if anybody can help me i will always appreciate it.
