Vista - Service pack 3 induced error code = 0x490

Hello all,
I need assistance with the following situation.

Last night my computer went through installing new upgrades and when it had completed installing service pack 3, after restarting it said that the installation had not taken place, and it was reverting changes. All it has done since is turn itself off and restart to the same spot. I have run diagnostics and startup menu fixes and everything I could find. Nothing has worked, not even the restore to previous saved configurations. I looked into the details of the fix startup menu application and this is what I got:

Root cause found

No OS files found on disk
Repair action: Partition table repair
Results: Failed. Error code = 0x490
Time taken = 9438 ms

This was the last entry after all the other diagnostics in this tool had passed.
I would greatly appreciate any help you can provide me on this matter.

Surly you mean other service pack -for Vista there are SP1 ,SP2 ,SP3 still don't exist even any test versions

Try to fix Vista Bootloader Recovering the Vista Bootloader from the DVD - NeoSmart Technologies Wiki
