Last night i installed sp2 on my Vista Home Premium X64. The install seemed to be in finish fine but after the restart the "Windows Error Recovery" screen comes up saying " Windows has failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause" vista will not boot up it goes to the black screen with the bar saying Microsoft Corporation it freezes. When i tried to boot is safe mode it gets to "Loaded: \Windows\system32\drivers\crcdisk.sys" and freezes. When i tried to boot it in "last good configuration" it freezes at the same screen as a regular boot. When i try to boot from the dvd a black screen comes up saying "windows is loading files..." with a white bar when it finishes loading the screen goes black and nothing happens.

As you can see im in a bit of a pickle any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you try safe mode with command prompt and enter rstrui.exe to see if you can restore to a time before SP2. Were you experiencing any disk related crashed before you installed the service pack?

The hard disk is breaking. Can you take it out and scan it in another pc?

Ok so i decided to move my pc to a table for more room to work. When i set it up i decided to turn it on just to see if it had changed any thing and it booted up and finished installing sp2. Im thinking that ether something was unplugged or im HD is about to crash so i am backing everything up and im going to open up my case to see if any thing is lose.
