HP - Pavilion Laptop(model:dv7 -1448x) with AMD Turion™ X2 Dual-Core Mobile Processor (4GB RAM,320GB hard drive).
The initial configurations done as per the setup and wizard instructions provided by hp. After some time, suddenly the system performace was too slow and it has given me a huge shock and made me think like i've wasted my money! BUT after installed the windows updates, it's performance increased tremendously.
There is always the alert which shows install Windows updates. Even when i tried to shutdown the system, it pops up 'Install Updates and shut down'. So i've installed the updates almost every day otherwise it will not allow me to perform any operations. Is this expected behaviour? Can't we work without installing any windows updates atleast for a month?
I am afraid may be some performance issue on this model! Due to these every day installation of windows updates, its killing my hard drive like anything.. Intially, in C drive, the free space was 243 GB of 260GB, now its reduced to 225GB of 260GB. I am loosing my memory because of this updates.
Please suggest what can i do to save my memory as well as to increase the performance of my system. I really thankful for any valuable suggestions!
thanks in advance

Hi pannar
If you are downloading automatically and installing you might want to change that to notify but dont install. MS will download ALL updates including non critical ones. they dl languages, game updates, ettc.
Now you aren't losing memory you are losing disk space. you have plenty left. when you finally resolve this issue you can go thru the updates and uun-install the non critical ones.
So change to notify but nodnt install, and finish letting the current batch install.
hope this helps and let us know if you need help with this
