Please Help

I recently got updates and now my IE 8 keeps locking me out of websites that I regulary visit, say DEP has closed the program. I am a novice at the computer and dont know how to fix this problem can someone please help me in a language I can understand? It also shuts down when I use other Internet programs like firefox. Can someone please help turn this thing off???

sure. you need to go to start>control panel>system control panel>advanced settings> performance settings>DEP. In DEP you want to see which radio button is checked. the default is NOT all programs.

Let us know what it is set to

Their are two settings the first is:
Turn on DEP for essential Window and services only.
Turn on Dep only for all programs and services except those I select.

The frist on is selected

Run cmd.exe with administrative previlliges (right click on cm.exe as admin) and type:

bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOff
+restart

DEP - Enable or Disable

I'm afraid I dont know how to do this cmd.exe with administration privillege, I dont want to mess up the entier computer. Can someone walk me thru it step by step please. I'm sorry I'm so inenept.

typed in all that you said to type did'nt accept, so typed in just the begining bcdedit.exe brought up screen the nx is marked OptIn, but I cant figure out how to change it

Don't let you change settings?Maybe try to do that in safe mode.
