Vista - need help

i recently brought a new HP computer with vista home premium and i installed a few games i had for my xp and for some reason i cant play neverwinter nights 2 due to some direct 3d capability something.

i installed directx 9 and it still wont run. is there anything else i can download to update my drivers and software?

hi there

The issue is that the game is not compatible with Vista but was compatible with XP
So what you can do
you can try to change the compatibility of the game
Simply right click on the games icon and goto Properties
There will be a tab there "COMPATIBILITY"
Under this tab check that box which says "Run this program in compatibility mode for windows XP"
Then click on apply then OK
