Vista SP2 Update error 800F0A07

    Vista SP2 Update error 800F0A07

    The SP2 update fails and I get a message telling me that the newer version is already install. The error code is 800F0A07. This is what is shows in the registry under HLM > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows NT > Current Version :



    BuildLab............6001.vistasp1_gdr.090805-0102
    BuildLabEx.........6001.18304.amd64fre.vistasp1_gdr.090805-0102
    CSDVersion.......Service Pack 3

    I can't go back far in Restore System dates to go back to SP1 so how do I fix this?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    First restore CSDVersion to Service Pack 1 +restart.If don't help export HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion key

    Start>>Search>>cmd.exe and type

    REG EXPORT "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion" %userprofile%\Desktop\log.txt

    On your desktop appear log.txt ->attache this file to post

    If I have to do the whole new repair/install might as well get rid of Vista and pop in Windows 7. And that is exactly what I'm doing right now.
