    Problems with latest Windows Update

Windows Updates downloaded on 14/4 caused significant problems. Instead of restarting in response to the prompt, the machine powered itself off. When booting up again it went into command mode telling me that there was a problem and offering to repair it, but powered off again. I managed to get it booted up ok by doing a System Restore under the Reinstall Windows option, but since Automatic Update is selected the same Updates caused the same problem when I powered off last night.
    Has anyone else experienced this?

Get the computer working again. Then set update to notify, rather than to install automatically. Then when you are advised of the new updated, do not install it, hide it.
If you have questions with any of this just post.

    These problems are common.

Richard: Thank you for the response and the advice. I've never experienced it before.
Are you suggesting that I don't apply any updates in future?

Just that one, if it gives you problems. In the future set that you are notified and you will install. Then do one at a time.

Re: Problems with latest Windows Update

I am having the same issue but the only way I have been able to get my computer to start is by going into safe mode. What can i do to get it to revert to the prior update so I will be able to turn off automatic updates and skip this one? Please I could really use help. I need to get this fixed soon.

Also I tried to uninstall it but I think because it's in safe mode it is not allowing me to uninstall the updates.... what do i do now? :/

I think that the best way is system restore an alternative way is to uninstall.

Windows update, view update history>installed updates>uninstall.

I've tried doing this but it's coming up with an error saying the installer is not correctly installed...

Yes tried system restore and it says that it is unable to restore it, hence why I had to start in safe mode
