I can't see windows update tab & "updates were not configured correctly. ..

Hi ppl. I have 2 problems:

    1) I can't see Windows update tab as can you see from this picture:
and second one I guess this is a very famous problem:

My computer every day without my permission turn off and trying to make some updates, like: 2 of 3 100% after that reloading makes 3 of 3 100% reloads and then writes me: updates were not configured correctly. reverting the changes. It happens every day!!!! I do some work and suddenly it turns off and trying to update something.. I turned off updates. Damn!!!! Vista, Solve it already!!!!! I see it's a very common problem as I surfed through the forums in Net. I already tried many solutions that i've found in net, like: restore point (doesn't work), updates were not configured correctly. REverting changes. ,
Updates were not configured correctly. Reverting Changes. Do not turn off your computer..

Please.Help me to solve it. I'm already exhausted.

Firstly just some friendly advice you may want to take into account, when I am looking to help people I see a long list of new threads and I tend to avoid the ones with a few comments already because the problem is probably already being dealt with so don't comment on your own thread, instead just edit the original question

Have you tried a system restore?

yeah, thanx for your friendly advice
Yes I tried system restore and it doesn't help me (as I said in my report). I wonder that that problem is unknown for the microsoft programmers?

    Hello,

I managed to find this by luck, Tom does have a point. Anyway, lesson learned. If I were you, I would try everything in Flavius' general Windows update post:

1.Reset WU components in aggressive mode How do I reset Windows Update components?

2.Reset WU modules Repair & Fix Windows Updates with Fix WU Utility | The Windows Club

    3. Press the Windows Key + R to open the Run dialogue. Type cmd and press enter. Go past the UAC prompt if necessary. Type

    sfc /scannow

and press enter. Let it finish (about 15 minutes) See here for details on SFC: System Files - SFC Command

4.Run Readiness Tool Description of the System Update Readiness Tool for Windows Vista, for Windows Server 2008, for Windows 7, and for Windows Server 2008 R2
even if this tool don't solve problem it create CheckSur.log file in C:\Windows\Logs\CBS folder

If nothing help pack all files from C:\Windows\Logs\CBS folder and attach to post or upload on rapidshare.com

Oh sorry about that dimani4, i didn't notice that part.

To make it easier to read the CBS log, either run this in an elevated command prompt or make a batch file of it:

This will place the log file on your desktop.

Do as Tom says, but can you still upload the C:Windows\Logs\CBS folder so I can have all the other logs also. Thanks!
