Am having problems installing security updates.

Hi,
I have read several issue on how to resolve the problem all to no avail. i would appreciate the help.

Security Update for the 2007 Microsoft Office System (KB976321)

You need to have installed the Micr.soft Office Suite 2007 SP1 or SP2 for this update to install.

i just installed the sp2 package. however there is no change when i tried installing the security update for microsoft office system. ironically enough, certain start up processes like itunes, microsoft live messenger, and even firefox fails to come on.
